As the name depicts "Thousand fold Springs" in English, Sahastradhara is one of the most beautiful and scenic spots in dehradun. Its name derives from the fact that water literally drips down from limestones stalactites numbering thousands formed in a sort of a grotto or cave.
Located 15 kilometers from the clock tower, 30 kilometers from the Jolly Grant Airport and 17 kilometers from the Dehradun Railway Station, Sahastradhara is well connected by road from all major landmarks in Dehradun. Both public and private vehicles ply to and fro in great frequency. Sahastradhara has an aged appeal and magnificence drawing both local and tourists alike. The presence of sulphur spring near the falls has medicinal and healing properties for any skin care diseases or ailments. The sulphur in the water has therapeutic value.
